FOOTBALL NSW INFLUENZA & SWINE FLU UPDATE

Football NSW has received reports today of influenza and swine flu symptoms in clubs in the Sydney region.

Football NSW will continue to liaise with clubs and associations and review further information as it is received.

At this time we remind all clubs and associations of the importance of enforcing good hygiene practices at all levels and ensuring that any persons with flu-like symptoms are sent home and do not participate in football until their symptoms have fully subsided for a period of 24 hours or they have approval from a GP to return to play.

It is also important to note that persons with underlying conditions, including asthma and diabetes are considered at risk of developing complications from Swine Flu and should seek immediate medical attention if symptoms occur.
